Start of a SueB.do Summer

photoYesterday was the first day of many that will be spent on Cape Cod for the Summer of 2013. SueB.do and I went down to the store to set up for a summer of selling fun. Being done with school and moving into summer mode is difficult and can have its own set of challenges, so there are a few things that I am doing to make sure that I stay happy, healthy and productive during the transition during Memorial Day Weekend.

1. Get a good night sleep. Being done with school and finals can mean getting over-excited about late nights, but that will easily run you down. I’m taking it slow this weekend around work and, sleeping at least 8 hours to get the energy back up!

2. Carry Layers. The weather continues to shift (ew New England) and that means that it is hot humid and horrible and then chilly at night. I’m traveling with layers on these weekend trips to adapt to the temperature.

3. Grab a good book. Decompressing after long nights of studying can be hard, so reading some light and funny helps ease into a relaxed summer state of mind. I just finished Mindy Kaling’s “Is everyone hanging out without me?” It was laugh out loud funny, light and entertaining.

4. Enjoy some music. Make a happy playlist! Music definitely effects your mood and can help shuffle you into the summer transition. Some of my favorites right now for a boost of summer are:

On Top of the World by Imagine Dragon

Cruise by Florida George Line

C’Mon by Ke$ha

Scream & Shout by will.i.am

What are you doing to relax and get in the summer groove? Let me know in the comments!
